Danielle + David's Wedding

Wednesday, August 29th, 2018

Today's bride Danielle has such a bubbly, lovely personality — we're letting her tell the story of her (absolutely delicious) wedding to her husband David!

"Our wedding was everything I dreamed of and more. We said our vows in the same cathedral as my parents...Our theme was 'Romantic Garden,' and my vendors went above and beyond to make that happen. We had flowers and candles everywhere, even ladders hanging from the ceiling, draped in flowers and dangling candles. We wanted it to be less formal in feel, allowing for more of a social atmosphere, therefore we opted for high tops, open seating, and a strolling stations dinner. We had our cocktail hour in the same hall as our reception with charcuterie and fruit displays, as well as passed hors d'oeuvres. My husband loves my Palestinian culture, and even though I was wanting to stay away from the traditions, he wanted to incorporate it throughout our wedding. So we also had traditional Arabic mezze on all the tables — tabbouleh, kibbeh, hummus, spinach pies, baba ganoush, fattoush salad — and the stations remained opened all night for dinner.

"For dessert, I wanted ice cream and only ice cream. It’s my favorite. But my mother insisted we have at least a small cake for pictures, so my bridesmaid actually made our cake. She isn’t a professional (although you wouldn’t be able to tell) and just does it for fun, but she drove that cake 4 hours up to our venue. It far exceeded my expectations as it was the most perfectly beautiful cake and just as delicious too! We also had an ice cream cart…because I wasn’t losing that argument… that served ice cream sandwiches, cookie sandwiches, drum sticks, choco tacos, and Magnum bars — as well as a candy bar with all the good stuff. At the end of the night, we served Dominos pizza and Krispy Kreme donuts. Needless to stay, our guests didn’t go home hungry.

"We originally booked a great American band, however after realizing how disappointed David was that we weren’t having any Arabic music, I arranged the biggest surprise — which is huge considering I have the biggest mouth – and hired an Arabic drummer. It was so fun having all of our guests realize by David that is was a surprise and feeling a part of it. It was perfect!

"Besides the basics… good food, good music, strong drinks… there was love. It radiated through the room. You could feel the love. And that is what made it such an amazing day. I love being married and I love reminiscing through our pictures by Alex and Cammy, remembering how beautiful of a day it was and how beautiful I felt! It was so perfect, I just wish I could wear my dress again. I would wear it everyday if I could."

First of all, this wedding sounds incredible. We're so jealous we weren't there!! We especially love how Danielle thoughtfully incorporated her own Palestinian culture through food and music as a special touch for David. We know you'll love the photos as much as we do, so enjoy and happy Wedding Wednesday!
